SfVR Workshop — Pilsen, Czech

Workshop at the ‘Sutnarka’ University

Space for visual research and Tales from Pilsen

The course was aimed at graphic and/or image text conception people.
Workshop together with Masihne Rasuli

1)The SPACE FOR VISUAL RESEARCH was established at Bauhaus University Weimar as a workshop and laboratory for the experimental exploration of new graphic, abstract and visual worlds. The Space’s mission is to support the research drive for new aesthetics, in particular by empowering design students to create their own individual visual language. The Space offers a series of specific experiments as starting points that can be questioned, interpreted and adapted in a progressive context that culminates in students developing and executing their own experiments.
2)The results of the first part of the workshop now serve as a basis for a practical approach to the results of the work. The content of this workshop is about the city/perception of the city/self-image/demography. We continue to work with strategies such as interventions or campaigns. Who occupies which spaces in the city? Where are those who do not get to speak spaces? City as stage, city as text, city as space of communication. We use these key points as a hinge and question the urban space for qualities for its users. Which part of the city we actually end up in will become clear in the course of the workshop. For which group, for which neighbourhood or for which phenomenon do we develop a visual message?
