On the internet, “404 Not Found” refers to missing information. But what if nature displayed a “404”? Nature 404 is a generative art project that visualizes the transformation of nature due to climate anomalies as data errors, offering a new perspective on the environmental crisis we face. Weather has become an increasingly unpredictable variable, and nature is gradually shifting away from familiar patterns. In response, Nature 404 explores the instability of nature through glitch aesthetics, visually revealing abnormal climate changes. This project combines analog depictions of natural elements with creative coding and graphic design, transforming nature’s distorted signals into a new visual language in the form of a poster. This project serves as a preliminary research-based Freies Projekt, laying the theoretical and practical foundation for my upcoming master’s thesis. It is an attempt to reinterpret the fractures in nature at the intersection of technology and art. Nature _ 404 is not merely a visual experiment but a statement—both a warning about the changing environment and a proposal for a new sensory experience.
